Tear-Offs:<\/strong>
\nGoggle tear-offs are essential for motocross riders, providing a quick and effective way to clear their vision when roost and debris obscure their goggles during a race. These tear-offs are thin plastic sheets that cover the lens, allowing riders to simply tear off one layer at a time to restore clarity. Depending on the duration of the race and the conditions, riders may stack anywhere from a single tear-off up to 24.<\/p>\n

Tear-offs are available in both individual sheets and laminated stacks. The laminated version consists of multiple tear-offs that are stuck together, preventing dirt and water from getting between the layers. This improves vision, especially when using multiple stacks. In recent years, Motorcycling Australia has banned tear-offs unless a track receives an exemption, leading many riders to switch to roll-off systems. Tear-offs remain legal at tracks with an exemption.<\/p>\n

Roll-Off Systems:<\/strong>
\nRoll-off systems are an alternative designed to keep your goggles clear throughout the race.<\/p>\n

This system features two canisters, one at each end of the goggles. One canister holds fresh film, while the other collects the used, “dirty” film. A pull-string mechanism allows riders to advance the film across the lens to maintain a clear view.<\/p>\n

Typically, the film is around 40mm wide and runs horizontally across the goggles, aligned with the rider\u2019s eyes. To activate the system, riders pull the string on the left-hand side, and may need to pull it twice to fully extend the clean film across the goggles.<\/p>\n
